What does the Academy offer?

Academy fellowships provide emerging leaders at the mid-point of their careers with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge, publish, speak at events, expand their personal networks, and further develop an understanding of critical issues in international affairs, which will enable them to contribute to positive change in their home countries and broader region.

Fellows join a diverse cohort of professionals from a variety of sectors including academia, NGOs, business, government or the media who are looking for the next step or transition in their career.

During their fellowship, the Academy enables fellows to develop themselves in four key areas:

The European Institute of Policy Research and Human Rights promotes nonpartisan discourse and critical analysis of issues of long-term importance through competitive fellowships, access to renowned experts, and symposia.

The Institute offers European Leadership Fellowship (ELF) which prepares young individuals under 35 years to assume their responsibility as global citizens in public, private, and nonprofit sectors—participants learn how to lead with integrity, build capital to garner influence and translate knowledge into action.

The Institute’s Global Centre for Human Rights and Justice (GCHRJ) offers a range of training on issues across the business and human rights agenda. Drawing on its roster of international experts, GCHRJ provides standard, advanced, or bespoke training to meet the needs of any organisation interested in:

  • increasing understanding of business and human rights issues;

  • refining skills to implement human rights due diligence;

  • developing internal competencies on specific topics;

  • addressing real-world human rights dilemmas.

The GCHRJ Academy Faculty includes members of EIPRHR staff, Research Fellows and Advisory Council, as well as eminent guest speakers.

Organisations that would benefit from GCHRJ training include businesses, trade associations, embassies, academic institutions, government departments, and not-for-profit entities.
